Multi-Angle Distal Tibia Cutting Guide for Glenoid Bone Reconstruction
This project aims to develop a multi-angle distal tibia cutting guide to assist surgeons in restoring anterior glenoid bone loss associated with shoulder instability. Inspired by the Arthrex Distal Tibia Allograft System, this device is designed to accurately and reproducibly cut autograft bone blocks from the distal articular surface of the tibia at preset angles. The guide will accommodate a thin sagittal saw blade, ensuring precise, repeatable cuts that match the patient’s specific glenoid defect geometry. By providing improved angular control, secure graft fixation, and streamlined setup, the jig aims to enhance the reproducibility of bone block preparation and reduce variability. Ultimately, this innovation seeks to offer a more reliable and efficient tool for orthopedic surgeons performing glenoid reconstruction procedures.
