Design and Manufacture of a SLA Printed Cold Plate
The project goal is to design, manufacture, and test an stereolithography (SLA) printed cold plate with fluid channel geometry optimized for higher surface area and heat transfer rates. A trade study between the SLA cold plate and a traditional straight channel aluminum cold plate - comparing weight, thermal performance, and cost factors - is also required. Collins Aerospace reached out to UConn SoE to continue the project of ME16 from 2022, altering the project requirements from using FDM 3D printing to SLA 3D printing.
