The University of Connecticut (UConn), is exploring the design and construction of a state-of-the-art training and testing facility focused on transportation safety and autonomous vehicles. This will require an administration building to manage the track, as well as house self-driving companies and their cars. This report details the design of a 15,000 sq – ft two-story building at the University of Connecticut’s Depot Campus in Mansfield, CT. The building will provide space for 75-100 employees of 4-5 different companies, while also providing a dynamic design that was both private and collaborative. The architectural, structural and foundation design were completed, with alterative designs and considerations for future development.
