Linear Engine Generator
Since the 1940’s, numerous attempts have been made to develop a practical linear engine generator, with no commercial success. Universities, National Laboratories, and Automobile Manufacturers worldwide have participated in development, with no commercial outcomes. The largest prototypes that have been demonstrated are under 25 kW (33.5 hp). The objective of this project is design, prototype and demonstrate an engine-generator set that doesn’t need rotary motion to make electric power.
Our team collaborated with Mechanical Engineering 70 on this project.
