Many of the bus shelters in Hartford have never been wired for electricity. Therefore, early in the morning or late at night people do not feel safe. It is our hope that with lighting the shelters people’s comfort levels will increase when taking the bus when it is dark. It should also enhance the appeal of the stations through a creative lighting design. We will enhance these spaces with artistic lighting installations, not just utilitarian lights. A unique design and other amenities such as: phone charging capabilities, display of temperature, date, times and times of arriving buses on LED matrix are included as well in the project.
