Utilizing Lidar to Predict Fill Level and Rate of Scrap Metal Containers

Our project is to develop a system that can be mounted onto Trumpf machinery to analyze the fill level of their scrap metal bins over time. We then analyze this data to detect when the bins are full, so that operators can be alerted, and calculate fill level over time, to give Trumpf additional information about how much material they use and how quickly they use it.

Our team collaborated with Electrical and Computer Engineering 26,Mechanical Engineering 55 on this project.
