The objective of this project is to design and prototype an automated cricothyrotomy device capable of providing emergency airway access in the event of an obstruction. The device is intended for use by individuals without medical training, enabling rapid, onsite intervention. By automating the critical procedural steps typically performed by trained healthcare professionals, the device seeks to enhance accessibility, reduce response time, and improve patient outcomes in life-threatening situations. Additionally, the device must be user-friendly, easy to interpret and use, carry, and set up in a short time.
