Issue: Metro-North train cars are changing; rail stations need to change with them. In Seymour, CT, along the Waterbury Branch of Metro-North's New Haven Line, all station platforms need to sit 4-feet, 4-inches above the top of rail to accommodate modern train cars that have phased out the step stairs. Design Goal: to modernize & replace the current platform with a 350-ft long ADA complaint high-level platform equipped with a canopy to shield pedestrians from adverse weather conditions, with adequate pedestrian access & parking for vehicles.
