This project on Data Science for Food and Agricultural Systems (DSFAS), supported by U.S. Department of Agriculture, uses big data to address food systems questions, exploit the subset sample of a unique mobility dataset of 200 million cell phone users to answer research questions of national scope focusing on producer marketing, food retailing, and consumer choices. The project uses mobility big data to conduct food system analysis, combining multiple datasets to examine and visualize the producer marketing decisions, retailer networks, and consumer behaviors.
