This project aims to design a plastic 3D printed gear holding part used for gear manufacturing in the Aerospace industry. While these gear holding fixtures have traditionally made out of metals, a 3D printed part will decrease material and manufacturing cost and allow for fast production of new gear holding fixtures. The project tests the strength and reusability of the plastic part, as well as compatibility with common fluids used in the gear manufacturing process.
