Tensile, cyclic testing of aerospace alloys is usually conducted using a servo controlled hydraulic test machine. These test machines orient the test specimen vertically, fixing one end and apply load or deflection in the vertical direction. For some types of testing it may be more advantageous to orient the specimen in the horizontal direction. We are tasked to create a fixture that utilizes the current testing frames and load application direction and convert to a horizontally applied load.
