Our project, Team 2625, focuses on design and construction of a lithium-ion battery pack for an electric-powered hydroplane competing in the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) Promoting Electric Propulsion (PEP) competition. The goal of the project is to deliver a high-capacity power system that can enable the hydroplane to complete the 2-mile endurance course within competition constraints. Building upon previous year’s design, which faced issues with their power system and overheating, this project will construct a new high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack to improve reliability, safety and performance.
