Robotic Platform Integration of Sensors Execute Trajectory Algorithm
The project aims to demonstrate an automated robotic car equipped with a tactile sensor to traverse over internal components of a Jet engine to find faults on its internal surfaces, such as the surface of its fan blades or the engine casing. Rather than making use of photographic equipment, which is the basis of the current diagnostic technology, this project makes use of a tactile sensor to eliminate optical artifices and to attain high resolution detection. This comes as an improvement to current day engine diagnostic technology, which is primarily based on the use of a borescope camera.
Our team collaborated with Computer Science & Engineering 21 on this project.
