This project aims to evaluate how Model-Based Definition (MBD) data can be used to automate and enhance supplier processes within Sikorsky’s procurement system. Many small suppliers struggle to use MBD data due to limited software access, high costs, or training gaps, leading to redundant 2D rework and inefficiencies. Acting as a mock supplier, Ucore Manufacturing, the project team will test how digital MBD datasets can be interpreted and applied using industry software to generate Requests for Quote (RFQ), inspection plans, and related supplier deliverables.
