Energy Reduction Study, Enfield Armory, Enfield, CT
The objective of this project is to identify, design and recommend to CTNG opportunities for energy reduction and alternate energy sources. The site-in-focus is the Enfield Armory, which was originally constructed in the 1960s; it features a 17,800 square feet facility with low typical occupancy. The team approached the project by conducting research, building analysis, and performing various simulations. These simulations includes potential integrated energy systems through REopt and energy efficiency measures through eQUEST. The team additionally proposed upgrades to the facility's lighting system and insulation. The team completed designs of recommended systems, performing cost analysis for installation, operation costs, and projected savings. The energy reduction study identifies the optimal energy system, considering factors such as costs, installation, and environmental impact.
Our team collaborated with Electrical and Computer Engineering 24 on this project.
