The need for efficient and thorough security screening at airports and train stations continues to grow as passenger volumes increase. However, long wait times at security checkpoints cause frustration for travelers and limit the ability to conduct comprehensive screening. To address this problem, Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) is developing a next-generation prototype that can track individuals and sense potential threats in real-time without stopping passengers.
