Thermal Design for Battery Energy Storage System
The report presents the investigation and redesign of a high voltage lithium-ion battery energy storage cabinet using supercell technology. The goal is to maintain a uniform temperature of 25°C with a temperature difference of less than 5°C within the cabinet while ensuring the proper gap of electrical insulation, and to ensure that there is no small gap for an arc flash to occur. The team used CAD drawings and computational modeling to test candidate designs using ANSYS Workbench 2022 and FLUENT ANSYS software.
