Practical Linear Generator
A linear generator uses linear motion to produce an electrical output, rather than relying on rotary motion. When compared to rotary-based generators, linear-based generators go through less stress from motion which in turn means less maintenance and longer overall longevity. The purpose of this project is to prototype a practical linear generator, to demonstrate a proof-of-concept using a small budget. The ultimate goal of this project is to show the applicability of linear generators in the modern world as they are ultimately more efficient than conventional rotary generators.
Our team collaborated with Electrical and Computer Engineering 6 on this project.
