The City of New Haven is working with WSP to plan the removal of the existing vehicular bridge spanning over Metro North railroads and its replacement with a new pedestrian bridge on Court Street! Our senior design team performed an alternative study to that of WSP's to give new insight to how the pedestrian bridge can be designed. WSP has communicated the site restraints as well as the needs of the new pedestrian bridge to our team. The criteria for the design required the creation of a civil profile, horizontal layout, structural design (Superstructure), aesthetic design, and constructibility. The project included developing plans, cost estimation, and design calculation.
